EIN DEUTSCHES REQUIEM Opus 45
The London Chorus and New London Orchestra Ronald Corp Conductor Sarah-Jane Brandon Soprano Gerard Collett Baritone
The Hound of Heaven is a remarkable poem by the English poet and ascetic Francis Thomson (1859-1907). It describes the pursuit of the human soul by God, and receives a suitably dramatic setting by Ronald Corp. Corp's music for choir is well known but recent instrumental pieces (String quartet No 1 'The Bustard' and Symphony No 1) have been enthusiastically received.
